The ceremony of the first publication of EU Drug Administration and TCM , also the conversazione on TCM was held in Beijing on March 12th, 1999. This book was edited by Mr.Zhang Wenkang, the minister of Health Dept. of China, written by the experts from State TCM Administration who have had a inspection visit to foreign countries.

　　 EU with far-flung ground has very aboundant natural plant resources. In recent years, the herbal products' market in EU is growing more rapidly than that of chemical drug. Since 1987, the purchasing power for herbal products in UK and France is going up by 70% and 50% respectively.

the statistics of 1994 show that the sales value of herbal products in EU reached USD$ 6 billion which account for 50% in total sales value around world. So the occurence of EU Drug Administration and TCM has opened the window for TCM industry to realize the development trend and administration of medicine in EU, and will have a positive effect of pushing sales of TCM product into EU market.
